Outdoor Wall Lighting

Outdoor Wall Lighting covers the fixtures that mount on exterior walls — lanterns, barn lights, sconces and modern up-and-down designs that light a home's entrances and outdoor living spaces after dark. Use them beside front doors, garage doors, porches and patios to light the entrance and complement the exterior.

Choose the power source to suit the installation. When comparing automatic controls, distinguish motion sensing from dusk-to-dawn operation: one responds to movement, while the other responds to changes in ambient light. Compare the fixture's finish and proportions with the doors and hardware around it. Check the fixture's overall dimensions and projection from the wall, and choose a wet-rated model for walls that take direct rain.
